Shaped by Limburg’s top fine-dining restaurants

Behind Bistro Berwien are three young hospitality entrepreneurs: Bram, Max and Thijs. They learned the trade in top gastronomy in Maastricht, where they worked together in a former star restaurant. Today, that experience in refinement, precision and product knowledge forms the basis of their French bistro in Moelingen.

In the kitchen and on the floor, it's all about attention. For the product, for the craft and, above all, for the guest. The quality of a star restaurant, translated into an accessible bistro in the Limburg border region.

Our History

The story of Berwien: rooted in Moelingen

The name Berwien refers to the river that flows through Moelingen and flows into the Meuse, right on the border with the Netherlands. This river is a symbol of peace, movement and connection, values that you will also find in us.

Moelingen is small, charming and burgundian. A village where you slow down, where life outside is just as beautiful as inside at the table. Berwien is our ode to that place, with a nod to Paris.
